We got up early and arrived in the car park just after 8.30 am. We followed the track for 5 km u TIL we cam to a footbridge. A little further on, past the small loch, amazingly we saw an added basking in the sun. I’ve never seen an adder in real life before. I was a little bit frightened. We began the arduous climb up the steepest part of the mountain. Breathing hard we scrambled to the summit. Breathless and elated we stood on the top. There wasn’t a breath of wind so the midges were on the attack. Luckily they preferred dad to me. Descending was hard on my knees but easier than going up. The walk back seemed to last years. Exhausted we arrived back at the car park.
